Requirements for Basic NiMH Charger

All NiMH chargers should have

• independent charging slots
• “smart” termination algorithm (0 delta V, negative delta V, voltage with top-off)
• thermal protection
• small or no trickle charge

Some optional nice-to-have features

• clear visual status indicator
  • LED on - charging, LED off - full, LED blinking - error
  • red - charging, green - full, flashing red - error
  • backlight off - charging, backlight on - full, backlight blinking - error
• worn out battery detection (high internal resistance detection)
• adjustable charge current
