OPUS BT-C700
Functions
- Charge - 200, 300, 400, 500, 700 mA, (1000 mA) - default 400 mA
- Discharge (D) - 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 mA - default 300 mA
- Refresh (DC) - 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 mA - 3 cycles
- Test (CD) - 200, 300, 400, 500, 700 mA, (1000 mA)
- Quick Test - internal resistance in mOhms
Accuracy
Charge | Discharge | |
---|---|---|
500 | 478 | 509 |
1000 | 975 | 1021 |
1500 | 1450 | 1544 |
Charges 3-4% less into the cell than it says. Discharge reads 2-3% higher.
The internal resistance readings of NiMH cells are also very good, if we exclude the erroneous very low values it returns occasionally.
Liked
- charges with full speed up to 1.45V then halves the current and terminates on 0dV - perfect
- discharge leaves the cell discharged
- lowers the charge current for high-impedance cells
Disliked
- flimsy hard plastic
- ghost segments - inactive LCD segments are not completely off
- internal resistance test occasionally returns unrealistically low value, like 11 mOhm
- cannot escape the “Quick Test” mode on a single slot without changing the modes of all the slots
Wished
- the current selection was 300, 500, 700, and 1000 mA for each slot (I don’t find 200 and 400 mA very useful)
- it had slot selection buttons
- LCD had better viewing angle
- LCD backlight turned on after job completion and stayed on until battery removal or key press
- Refresh did only one DC cycle and showed both discharge and charge capacity
